SJK (C) Subang’s assistant principal Bai Chun Mei was named headmistress of SJK (C) Chung Hwa, Damansara, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.
Bai had taught in Chinese and national primary schools before being promoted to become the Klang school supervisor last year.
Later, she took over the post of assistant principal at SJK (C) Subang in Subang New Village, Selangor.
The daily reported that Bai had visited the school, which was the former SJK (C) Damansara, numerous times to make sure the
renovation works were completed before the school session begins next year.
SJK (C) Damansara was closed in 2001 following requests from its Parent-Teacher Association.
It was relocated to Tropicana several kilometres away.
Chung Hwa, a school with only 14 pupils in Parit, Perak, was relocated to Section 17 Petaling Jaya and the Education Ministry approved its use of the old SJK (C) Damansara school site.
Bai is also the secretary of the National Union of the Teaching Profession’s Selangor branch.
